THE STORY OF FALMOUTH BAND PARENTS
The Falmouth Band Parents is a nonprofit organization of volunteers dedicated to supporting instrumental music programs in the Falmouth Public Schools. For more than 50 years, the organization has provided assistance to the many enriching and diverse music programs in the schools and helped students advance their musical interests.
FUNDRAISING DOLLARS AT WORK
Thanks to the support from our hard working and generous families, student volunteers, and members of the community with fundraising and donations, Falmouth Band Parents is able to support music programs in many ways.
Here are just a few:
TRIPS
FHS Jazz, Concert and Chamber students attend a Music Festival Competition every other year across the US. Our most recent trip was to Washington, D.C. in 2018. We are looking forward to more opportunities to travel in 2023. All fundraising and volunteer efforts help bring down the out-of-pocket costs for families to send their children.
INSTRUMENTS
Anytime there are instrument needs in the district, Falmouth Band Parents help to fund the purchase of these items, through fundraising dollars and writing grants.
SCHOLARSHIPS
We are thrilled to have a scholarship fund established to award $1,000 to 2 graduating FHS seniors who have been part of the band program. Contributions to this fund can be made through Paypal at our website or checks mailed to FBP, PO Box 196 Falmouth, MA 02541.
GUEST CLINICIANS
We have been fortunate to have musical clinicians visit our schools and work 1 to 1 or as a whole group with our students. It is our hope to bring as many professional musicians into the classroom as possible throughout the school year.
